JAKARTA (XINHUA) – A total of 12.66 million foreign tourists visited Indonesia in the first 11 months of 2024 with an increase of 20.17 per cent year-on-year, Statistics Indonesia (BPS) reported yesterday.
The growth indicates that Indonesia’s tourism sector is recovering from the slowdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, said the report.
In November, Malaysia contributed the highest number of visitors, followed by Australia, Singapore and China.
For 2024, Indonesia has set a target of 14.3 million foreign tourist arrivals.
