The High Commission of India in Brunei Darussalam celebrated India’s 76th Republic Day at its chancery yesterday.
Members of the Indian diaspora and Bruneian friends joined the High Commissioner of India to Brunei Darussalam Alok Amitabh Dimri during the unfurling of the national flag and playing of the national anthem.
The ceremony also saw the high commissioner read out excerpts from the address to the nation by Indian President Droupadi Murmu on the eve of the Republic Day. The high commissioner also paid tribute to the energy of the Indian nationals working in the Sultanate, especially spanning multiple decades of their careers.
The celebration brought the Indian community together, strengthening ties with the high commission and showcasing their pride in India’s culture and achievements.
