Chung Hwa School Kiudang in the Tutong District recently celebrated the Mid-Autumn festival at the school’s multi-purpose hall.

The celebration aimed to enrich the students’ understanding of the second most important Chinese festival and allow students and teachers to experience the cultural atmosphere.

The event started with a presentation on the origin, meaning as well as customs of the Mid-Autumn festival followed by a quiz, during which prizes were given to the children who provided the correct answers. Students also learnt more about the festival by taking part in hands-on activities such as making lanterns and mooncakes based on demonstrations from Madam Phang.

Meanwhile, members and friends of the Society of Chinese Writers, Calligraphers and Artists celebrated the festival recently, joined by 30 people.
