A distribution of Korban meat to 50 Asnaf families of Mukim Ukong took place at the Kampong Bukit Mosque, Mukim Ukong in Tutong District yesterday.
The distribution was hosted by Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei (Perbadanan TAIB) together with its subsidiaries Insurans Islam TAIB Holdings Sdn Bhd (IITHSB) and Darussalam Holdings Sdn Bhd (DHSB).
Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof in his capacity as the Chairman of Perbadanan TAIB’s Board of Directors was the guest of honour and distributed the meat.
Officers and staff members of Perbadanan TAIB and its subsidiaries also received the sacrificial meat.
Underprivileged convert families residing in the area of Mukim Ukong registered with the Brunei Islamic Religious Council (MUIB) were among the invited guests.
Management, officers, staff and family members of Perbadanan TAIB and its subsidiaries participated in the sacrifice of three cattles for Korban, with five cattle also donated to Asnaf recipients and invited guests.
Members of the Perbadanan TAIB’s Board of Directors and its subsidiaries, members of the Syariah Advisory Committee, managing directors of Perbadanan TAIB and its subsidiaries; the penghulu of Mukim Ukong; officers and staff of Perbadanan TAIB and its subsidiaries were also present.

Minister of Home Affairs Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman attended a Korban ceremony for the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) at the Tripartite Hall of the Labour Department Headquarters yesterday.
The ceremony saw four buffaloes slaughtered with the meat distributed to underprivileged families in Mukim Berakas, Brunei-Muara District as well as the Korban participants and MoHA staff.
The ceremony also saw the recitation of Takbir Hari Raya by the Takbir team of the Labour Department, followed by a religious talk from Special Duties Officer Grade l under the Ministry of Religious Affairs Muhd Yussof bin Abdul Majid.
Permanent secretaries, deputy permanent secretary, heads of departments, senior officers and staff from the MoHA also attended.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and its departments held a Korban ceremony at its banquet hall yesterday.
Minister at the PMO Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof was the guest of honour.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and calls of Takbir led by Mosque Affairs Officer Pengiran Haji Mohd Hafizuddin bin Pengiran Haji Bakar.
The guest of honour distributed the Korban meat to Asnaf recipients registered under the Brunei Islamic Religious Council (MUIB) and personnel from the PMO.
State Mufti Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, deputy ministers, special guests, permanent secretary; deputy permanent secretaries and heads of departments also attended.
The ceremony ended with a Doa Selamat read by the mosque affairs officer.
Six buffaloes were slaughtered for the ceremony.

Three buffaloes were slaughtered for this year’s Korban ceremony by the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT).
Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism Dato Seri Paduka Dr Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin was the guest of honour of the event at the ministry.
The ceremony commenced with a mass recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah followed by Takbir Hari Raya.
The event also saw religious speaker from the Ministry of Religious Affairs Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ajak deliver a talk on Fiqh Ibadah Korban.
The minister, along with Permanent Secretary at the MPRT Hajah Tutiaty binti Haji Abdul Wahab distributed the sacrificial meat to Asnaf families registered under the Brunei Islamic Religious Council (MUIB) and staff of the MPRT and its departments.
Deputy permanent secretary at the MPRT, directors as well as officers and staff of the ministry were also present.
