Tanjong Maya Secondary School held ‘A Battle of Words’ spelling bee competition at its premises in the Tutong District.
The competition for Year 7 to Year 10 students aimed to enhance their vocabulary and spelling skills in the English language.
The English Department organised the event to select representatives for next year’s cluster and national spelling bee competition.
Earlier this year, the school sent 10 students to the cluster-level spelling bee competition at Sufri Bolkiah Secondary School in the Tutong District.
Seven out of 10 Cluster 5 representatives were from the school. The school won the first prize for the Year 11 girls’ category at the national competition held at the International Convention Centre on February.
