Several immigration offences were detected during ‘Operasi Panyap 2025’, a series of enforcement raids conducted by the Immigration and National Registration Department under the Ministry of Home Affairs across multiple locations. The operations targeted violations under the Immigration Act and Regulations, as well as the Trafficking and Smuggling of Persons Acts, Chapter 230 and Chapter 229.
At Pasar Tani Setenaga, Mukim Sengkurong, four foreign nationals were detained. Three were found working for employers other than those stated in their work permits and in roles different from those approved, violating Regulation 15(2) and 15(3) of the Immigration Regulations, Chapter 17. Another individual was arrested for overstaying after their immigration pass had expired, an offence under Section 15(1) of the Immigration Act, Chapter 17.
At business premises in Mukim Berakas ‘A’ and a lodging facility in Mukim Kianggeh, one foreign national was detained for working under a visitor’s pass, breaching Regulation 9(4) of the Immigration Regulations, Chapter 17.
At a rented workers’ house in Kuala Belait, 26 foreign nationals were inspected, with one detained for failing to provide valid travel documents.
