The Immigration and National Registration Department (INRD) recently conducted two law enforcement operations under Operasi Kabat JIPK 2024, targeting several locations in Brunei Darussalam.
Operasi Kabat 131/2024 was carried out by the Law Enforcement Division, Kuala Belait branch, while Operasi Kabat 132/2024 was conducted by the Law Enforcement Division, Bandar Seri Begawan.
Under Operasi Kabat 131/2024 conducted in Mukim Telisai, two foreign nationals were detained and brought to the Law Enforcement Division for further investigation. One individual was suspected of committing an offence for employing an immigration offender.
The other individual was suspected of committing an offence for not working under the authorised employer.
Meanwhile, in a separate inspection under Operasi Kabat 132/2024, 12 out of 36 foreign nationals were detained and brought to the Law Enforcement Division for further investigation. Targeting locations in Mukim Kilanas, Mukim Pengkalan Batu and rental homes in Mukim Kota Batu, four foreign nationals failed to produce any valid documents, while another four were suspected of overstaying in the Sultanate after their immigration passes expired. The remaining four were suspected of working while on a visitor’s pass.
