PHNOM PENH (XINHUA) – The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said yesterday that Cambodia’s economy is forecast to grow by 5.8 per cent in 2025, up from 5.5 per cent in 2024, boosted by strong growth in garment and agricultural exports, and improving tourism activity.
The Southeast Asian country’s economy mainly depends on garment, footwear and travel goods exports, construction and real estate, tourism and agriculture.
“Real gross domestic product growth is driven mainly by external demand, with a strong rebound in garment exports and high growth in agricultural exports,” the lender said in a press release.
“Tourism has experienced a structural shift in its composition, resulting in a lagged recovery in tourism receipts,” the press release added.
