Imams rally faithful towards eco-friendly living

In the Friday sermon, Imams underscored the vital role individuals play in achieving sustainable development by adopting environmentally friendly practices.

The public is encouraged to embrace responsible consumption habits, including the use of eco-friendly products, imams emphasised.

Imams also highlighted the imperative to steer clear of single-use plastics, reduce water and electricity consumption based on necessity, and actively support local businesses that prioritise environmental friendliness.

They called for collective efforts in engaging with beneficial activities such as environmental clean-ups, tree planting initiatives, and a mindful approach to food consumption to minimise waste.

Highlighting a critical statistic, Imams revealed that 32 per cent of the country’s waste originates from food.

The religious authorities stressed the entrusted responsibility of humans towards the Earth and urged them to utilise available resources responsibly.

The message is a call to action, urging people to be stewards of the environment, safeguarding it for present and future generations. This collective effort, they believe, is crucial for ensuring sustainable development.
