Imams in the Friday sermon reminded Muslims to carry out supererogatory worship beyond the holy month of Ramadhan such as to continue fasting six days after the first day of Syawal.
Muslims were also urged to consolidate obligatory worship, increase supererogatory worship and not to forget obligations to pay Zakat Fitrah, which can be fulfilled through amil or tithe collector appointed by the Brunei Islamic Religious Council. Zakat can also be paid via online through Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam Quickpay, Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei, DST eZakat and imagine i-Zakat fitrah.
Imams also highlighted that Ramadhan teaches the value of diligence, humility and sincerity, urging Muslims to be attentive of prayer times during sahur and sungkai. – Azlan Othman
