Parents and guardians are responsible for keeping Allah the Almighty’s trust as best as possible, imams said in the Friday sermon yesterday.
Among the responsibilities they must shoulder are ensuring that children receive a good education (pertaining to the world and the hereafter), not taking lightly and being negligent in fulfilling their rights and responsibilities towards their children and to be always concerned about the children’s well-being, whether emotionally, mentally or physically.
Imams said this as the nation marked the Celebration of World Children’s Day on November 20 that carries the theme ‘A Better Future For Every Child’.
The celebration aims to promote and support children’s inclusive development physically, mentally, spiritually and socially. “Children are considered as an important national asset. They need protection, education, love and be defended by those older than them.
“Early childhood is a very important period. If they are moulded and educated well, then they will be good, otherwise they will be damaged and destroyed,” imams said.
