Illit sets sales record with debut album

(ANN/KOREA HERALD) – Belift Lab announced on Monday that girl group Illit has broken the first-week sales record for a debut album from a K-pop girl group.

The group’s debut EP, “Super Real Me,” sold over 380,000 copies in its first week after release, surpassing the previous record held by NewJeans, which sold 311,000 copies.

Illit made history by debuting on Spotify’s daily top songs global chart with their lead track “Magnetic,” marking the first time a K-pop female group achieved this feat. Additionally, “Magnetic” entered Spotify’s weekly top songs global chart at No. 190, making it the fastest entry for a K-pop band on the chart.

Back home, the lead single quickly climbed Melon’s top 100 chart the day after its release and achieved top 10 rankings across all major music charts.
