Illegal stalls dismantled

The Housing Development Department took action against owners of illegal stalls operating at Jalan 17 in the RPN Kampong Lambak Kanan area.

The stalls were built without permission and encroached road junctions and government land, posing safety risks and causing traffic congestion.

Operating any business on national housing scheme (RPN) land is prohibited. Building structures on roads or road reserves without permission is a violation of the Road Traffic Act and can result in a fine of up to BND2,000. The Public Works Department (JKR) has the authority to remove such structures and recover the costs from the owners.

The Housing Development Department urged RPN residents to adhere to regulations and conditions. Stall owners are advised to operate only in designated areas.

To report illegal business activity on RPN land, contact the Housing Development Department through Darussalam Line 123.

To support legitimate stall operators, the Housing Development Department, in collaboration with the JKR, identified a new site for stalls in a nearby area. The site will be managed by relevant authorities and made available to eligible vendors in the near future. – James Kon
