Illegal car stockyard shut down

A car stockyard operating illegally in Kampong Rimba, Mukim Gadong was ordered to cease activities and dismantle building extensions after violating Section 23 (2), Chapter 248 of the Town and Country Planning Order. The violations included conducting business and erecting structures without Planning Authority approval.

The site, designated solely for residential use, had been unlawfully repurposed for commercial storage, causing discontent among neighbouring residents.

Following a routine inspection by the Planning Authority, the operations were halted, vehicles were removed and the illegal extensions demolished.

The public is reminded to adhere to planning laws, particularly Section 23, which prohibits land development, subdivision, or work in conservation areas without permission. Violators face fines of up to BND200,000, with additional daily fines of up to BND10,000 for continuing offences.
