DPMM FC announced the arrival of Icelandic central defender Damir Muminovic for the remainder of the Singapore Premier League (SPL) 2024-2025 campaign.
The Serbian-born defender will replace the injured Patrick Flottmann, who has not featured for the club since a 4-1 win against Albirex Niigata (S) in what turned out to be only his second outing last May.
The 34-year old previously represented Iceland top-tier club Breidablik FC spanning a decade of his playing career.
At international level, he won six caps for Iceland having made his debut in a friendly match against South Korea in 2022 where he played the entire match.
Muminovic, who consider Leiknir Reykjavik and Vikingur Olafsvik his former employers, was a mainstay with his most recent club operating at the heart of defence.
After initially spending the formative years of his career on loan including three spells with Ymir, he joined Bredablik in 2014 after spending two seasons with different clubs.
His career resume include two league titles in the Icelandic top flight, most recently winning the double last season as well as the Iceland Super Cup.
DPMM FC are in a desperate need to tighten their defence having conceded 14 goals in the last eight matches.
The Gegar Gegar men, who currently sit sixth, have also not kept a clean sheet since a goalless draw against Albirex Niigata (S) last August.
With the SPL currently undergoing a break amid the ongoing international schedule, DPMM FC will resume their campaign against Lion City Sailors at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium on January 13next year.
