The Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) organised a Charity Walkathon at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien in the capital on Sunday as part of IBTE’s 2024 fundraising campaign aimed at generating funds through donations to support technical education in Brunei Darussalam.

Deputy Minister of Energy at the Prime Minister’s Office Haji Mohammad Azmi bin Haji Mohd Hanifah attended as the guest of honour in his capacity as Chairman of the IBTE Governing Board.

The day commenced with a warm-up session, followed by a launching ceremony and a 3.2-kilometre walk which began and concluded at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien.

Proceeds from the 2024 fundraising campaign will be allocated for teaching and learning purposes, as well as to enhance the welfare and comfort of IBTE students.

Additionally, 30 per cent of the proceeds will be donated to registered charities in Brunei Darussalam.

The activity also supported the Ministry of Health’s initiative to promote a healthy lifestyle.
