The Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) welcomed 223 new students yesterday during its launch of a virtual orientation week from January 13-15.
IBTE CEO and Director of Technical Education Dr Haji Mohd Zamri bin Haji Sabli was the guest of honour.
Dr Haji Mohd Zamri outlined IBTE’s core values which are “dedicated to be a highly skilled person in the field of expertise (competence), firm in upholding the principle (integrity), persevere in facing challenges as a team (teamwork), ready to work cooperatively with each other and with stakeholders (collaborative), smart and creative in decision making (innovative); and strive hard to achieve excellent success (excellence)”.
He said all IBTE students, officers and staff must fully grasp the core values to ensure consistency and achieve unity in thinking and action.
The event began with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat followed by opening remarks by IBTE Acting Assistant Director of Academic Norjemee bin Jenek.
IBTE Mechanical Campus Student Representative Council’s Muhammad Khairul Anam bin Mirhassan led the recitation of student’s oath.
Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam’s (BIBD) Islamic finance planner (IFP) Norliah binti Mohd Taib, Royal Brunei Police Force’s (RBPF) ASP Norainah binti Haji Mohd Salleh and ASP Ahmad Faez bin Haji Mohd Hani gave presentations.
