IBTE welcomes new students

The Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) welcomed 1,722 new students for its August 2024 intake at the Opening Ceremony of IBTE Orientation Week, held on Tuesday at the Damai Ballroom, Aman Hills Hotel, Jalan Muara.

Chief Executive Officer and Director of Technical Education Dr Haji Mohd Zamri Bin Hj Sabli was the guest of honour at the event. 

Also present were IBTE’s senior officers, instructors, and staff.

In her welcoming speech, Chairperson of the IBTE 2024 Orientation Ceremony and Acting Deputy CEO (Academic) Hjh Norazlina Binti Othman highlighted the orientation week’s objectives. She explained that the week serves as a platform to help students transition smoothly into their new academic environment and encourages interaction among students, fostering a sense of belonging within the IBTE community.

The orientation week, running from July 30 to August 2, is packed with activities and programmes designed to familiarise students with IBTE campuses, facilities, academic policies, and available support services. 

For the August 2024/2025 academic session, IBTE is offering a total of 50 programmes, including 2 Diploma programmes (BDQF Level 5), 28 Higher National Technical Education (HNTec) programmes (BDQF Level 4), 16 National Technical Education (NTec) programmes (BDQF Level 3), and 4 ISQ programmes. – JAMES KON
