The Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) yesterday inked memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with five agencies at IBTE School of Aviation.
IBTE Director and Chief Executive Officer Dr Haji Mohd Zamri bin Haji Sabli said that the MoU signing marked a significant step towards achieving their shared objectives as well as provide more opportunities to collaborate, share expertise, and work towards mutual success.
He added that the MoU signing formalised the collaboration between IBTE and new industry partners, from refrigeration and air condition sector, hospitality sector and maritime sector for IBTE Dual System and Level II Apprenticeship programmes.
Under the agreement, students will have the opportunity to gain experience, put into practice the knowledge learnt in the real work, gain skills through mentorship from experts and enhance employability of IBTE graduates, he said.
Present to witness the MoU signing was Permanent Secretary (Higher Education) at the Ministry of Education Dr Haji Azman bin Ahmad.
The MoUs for The Capital Residence Suites, W Ventures Partners and Cuckoo International (B) Sdn Bhd were signed by Dr Haji Mohd Zamri and IBTE Central Principal Campus Armi Durani bin Haji Durhman, while for Fast Offshore Supply Pte Ltd and KOTUG (B) Sdn Bhd, they were signed by Dr Haji Mohd Zamri and IBTE Satellite Campus Acting Principal Dr Suhaimi bin Haji Abdul Wahab.
The MoUs aim to strengthen collaboration that will benefit both parties in terms of continuous educational development towards producing quality graduates that meet the industry standards.
