Finding peace, tranquility and beauty in Islam led to Iban youth Shahfadly anak Ubang embracing the faith in a ceremony at the Royal Police Guard Housing in Beribi yesterday.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by the recitation of Syahadah by the 21-year-old convert, now known as Muhammad Shahfadly bin Abdullah Ubang, in the presence of officers from the Dakwah Development Division of the Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI).
The event also saw Muhammad Shahfadly receive a gift from guest Haji Adanaan bin Haji Lamat, the sprinkling of scented flowers and the recitation of Doa Selamat.
As of February 28, 83 individuals had converted to Islam in the Sultanate.
