Three Iban siblings embraced Islam as their new religious faith at a conversion ceremony guided by Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) officers on Saturday.
The siblings, 31-year-old Neckwelly Amera Anak Siliman, his 25-year-old sister Marilyn Aferra and 11-year-old brother Neckmendy Alexvierra recited the Syahadah during a ceremony at the residence of Neckwelly’s foster family Asuandi bin Haji Jakut in RPN Kampong Panchor Mengkubau.
Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim and spouse were the guests of honour.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah followed with the recitation of Syahadah by the three siblings.
Neckwelly has chosen Muhammad Nur Aniq Zaquan bin Siliman as his Muslim name. His sister is known as Nur Arianna Delisha binti Siliman and brother Muhammad Aniq Anaqi bin Siliman.
The ceremony concluded with a presentation of souvenirs followed by the recitation of Dikir Marhaban and Doa Selamat.
