Hybe to introduce facial recognition for concertgoers in 2025

(ANN/KOREA HERALD) – Starting next year, concertgoers attending performances by Hybe artists will be able to access venues using facial recognition technology, making ticketing and entry processes faster and more seamless.

Hybe announced that the “Face Pass” system will debut during the “42:Club” fan meeting event for the boy band TWS. The event is scheduled to take place from February 14 to 16, 2025, at the Olympic Park Handball Gymnasium in Songpa-gu, Seoul.

The Face Pass system, provided by ticketing platform Interpark Triple, enables attendees to verify their identities and enter the venue without the need for physical tickets or ID checks. This innovative solution combines Viva Republica’s facial entry technology with Interpark Ticket’s platform for a smoother entry experience.

Hybe had earlier signed a memorandum of understanding in August with Toss and Interpark Triple to collaborate on solutions utilizing facial recognition technology.

For the TWS fan meeting, attendees can opt to use Face Pass for entry. Those already registered with Toss’s facial recognition service can purchase tickets via Interpark Ticket without needing additional registration. Meanwhile, new users can register their facial data through Interpark Ticket’s Face Pass service prior to the event. On the event day, Face Pass users can enter the venue quickly by passing through cameras installed at the entry gates.

For concertgoers who prefer not to use facial recognition, traditional verification processes will remain available. Separate identification booths will handle ID and ticket checks as usual, ensuring options for all attendees.
