The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) received BND62,914 for the Pakistan Flood Humanitarian Fund 2022 from Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, the Ministry of Defence (MinDef) and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) yesterday.
Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar in his capacity as the Deputy Chairman of the Yayasan Board of Directors handed over BND50,000 to Permanent Secretary (Community) at the MCYS Hajah Nor Ashikin binti Haji Johari for the fund in a ceremony at Yayasan headquarters yesterday.
At a separate ceremony, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad received the donations from the MinDef and the RBAF.
RBAF Commander Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan handed over BND10,000 to the fund on behalf of the RBAF.
Meanwhile, Permanent Secretary (Policy, Finance and Administration) at the MinDef Colonel (Rtd) Norsuriati binti Haji Sharbini handed over BND2,914 to the fund on behalf of the MinDef.
The fund is open for donations until January 12. It aims to help victims of the unprecedented floods that hit Pakistan last June.
Individuals wishing to contribute can do so via donation boxes at mosques, banks, as well as commercial and public buildings across the country, or directly to the fund’s secretariat at the Management and Administration Division, Community Development Department at the MCYS building in Jalan Kebangsaan.
Donation can also be done online through Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam with the account number 00-001-01-0082178 or QuickPay service by scanning the QR code at the posters for the fund.
The public can donate to the fund by sending an SMS with the word BANTU followed by the amount they wish to donate (1,5,10,15,50,100) – to 38111 (for DST and Progresif) or 39999 (for imagine).
