More than 500 participated in the Brunei Malay Teachers Association (PGGMB) 1.5 kilometre Walkathon 2023 on Sunday at the Jalan Menteri Besar Recreation Park in Berakas.
The event was organised by the school committee under the PGGMB – PGGMB Sungai Akar, PGGMB Tunas Jaya School Lambak, PGGMB Tunas Jaya School Madang and PGGMB Tunas Jaya School Kuala Belait.
The event was officiated by the Deputy Permanent Secretary (Core Education) at the Ministry of Education Alliudin bin Haji Abdul Rahman.
“The walkathon aimed to strengthen ties among the teachers, staff and parents of the students,” said the event Chairperson Haji Ali @ Mustapa bin Haji Talip.
The event also saw obtaining a fund-raising for PGGMB schools, which will be used for school activities and provide teaching aids as well as educational visits. – Lyna Mohamad
