Six Al-Afiah Hotel employees participated in a fire marshal course at the hotel in Kampong Kiulap from June 7 to 9.
The course was coordinated by the Public Relations Division of Operation ‘A’ Branch at the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD). Al-Afiah Hotel Managing Director Haji Rani bin Begawan Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Seri Setia Haji Md Yusuf and Operations Manager Mohamad Aziz bin Haji Mahit were present at the closing ceremony of the fire marshal course.
The participants were taught the importance of fire safety, how to take action during a fire incident as well as systematic evacuation, the proper procedure in using a fire extinguisher, fire blanket and how to escape from a fire. They also visited the Bandar Seri Begawan Fire Station to learn about firefighting equipment.
