‘Hot daddy’, female companions deny selling explicit videos on Telegram

KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama) – A Malaysian man who goes by the handle ‘hotdaddyyxx’ on the X application (formerly Twitter), along with two female associates, faced charges for distributing explicit videos involving over 20 women on the Telegram application.

Hasli Ikhwan Arif Zul Hasli, a 32-year-old father of three, Norshazrina Md Zamri, 27, and Norhidayah Mahadi, 24, pleaded not guilty during their appearance before Sessions Court judge Siti Aminah Ghazali.

The trio, charged under Section 372(1)(e) of the Penal Code, allegedly advertised sexual activities on the X application under the handle Notyourdaddy (@Hotdaddyyxx).

The charge carries a penalty of up to 15 years imprisonment, whipping, and a fine under Section 34 of the same code.

Deputy public prosecutor Nidzuwan Abd Latif argued against bail, asserting the seriousness of the non-bailable offence. However, if bail were to be granted, he proposed MYR20,000 with one surety for each accused.

Counsel for the accused, Mohd Faris Abrar Othman and Muhammad Faiz Mustafa, pleaded for minimum bail, citing their clients’ Malaysian citizenship, family ties, and commitment to answer the charges in court.

Judge Siti Aminah set bail at MYR10,000 with one surety and scheduled February 28 for mention and document submission.

The trio, recently arrested in Kampung Janda Baik, Bentong, Pahang, faces unprecedented charges after the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) discovered their promotion of explicit videos on Telegram.

The main suspect, identified through CID investigations, allegedly started the illicit enterprise by selling sexual enhancement drugs from China and eventually progressed to recording explicit videos, which he sold on Telegram channels since July last year.

Bukit Aman CID director Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain expressed concerns over the potential moral breakdown in society due to such activities and emphasised the need to combat this issue on a large scale.
