A total of 48 personnel and staff from Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital were certified as fire marshals after completing a Fire Marshal course from January 17 to 19.
The course was facilitated by personnel of the Public Relation Division of ‘A’ Operation Branch under the Fire and Rescue Department at RIPAS Hospital.
The participants were exposed to the importance of fire safety, including the causes of fire incidents and understanding action to be taken if a fire breaks out in the workplace.
The participants conducted fire drills including systematic evacuation during a fire as well as learning the correct usage of a fire extinguisher and how to save oneself if trapped inside a building during a fire.
