A total of 261 students from Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Girls Arabic Religious Secondary School were celebrated at the school’s 8th Haflut Takharruj ceremony held at its hall in Kampong Katok yesterday.
The ceremony honoured Year 10 (Fast Track) and Year 11 students who completed their studies in 2024, with the aim of recognising their efforts and achievements while fostering motivation and excellence among the school community.
Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary (Administration and Finance) at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Misle bin Haji Abdul Karim was the guest of honour.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah by Abdul Mukmin bin Haji Awang.
It was followed by a welcoming speech by the school’s acting principal Dayangku Noorintan binti Pengiran Haji Mohamad Zinin.
This was followed by the presentation of certificates by the guest of honour to the 261 graduates. Of these, 31 students received awards for Best Student in the 2024 Brunei Religious Education Certificate (SPUB), while 10 were awarded Best Student in the 2024 Brunei Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level Examination.
Special awards were also presented for Best Academic Student in the Science Stream, Best Academic Student in the Arabic Stream, and Best Student in Co-curricular Activities.
In recognition of academic excellence in 2024, appreciation certificates were presented to 35 outstanding teachers who contributed significantly to the school’s academic success.
The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of the Anugerah Pelajar Mithali (Model Student Award) for the year 2024.
The event concluded with the recitation of Doa Selamat by Ali Mohamed Moustafa Ali El-Saghir.
Parents and guardians of the graduating students were also present. – Fadley Faisal
