Hitting a snag in business logo application

Lately, there has been a push for locals to consider entrepreneurship to stimulate the economy, and I’m a full supporter of the initiative. After all, the government cannot employ everyone and the most businesses are out there, the more job opportunities are available for the taking.

It is a view that is shared by a friend, who recently decided to open a restaurant. However, he hit a snag when came time to approve the logo. After he submitted the application, it took a month for word to get back that his logo had been rejected; and the reason being that there was an animal in the design.

Determined to make it work, he submitted a new logo for approval. It’s been three weeks and there is still no news regarding the new logo, sans animal. And all this while, he’s paying rental for a shop lot that has yet been approved for operation.

While I sympathise with the authorities, especially the amount of applications they must receive on a regular basis now that more and more people are going into business, I do hope something can be done to ease the application, so we can together make the economy more vibrant.
