His Majesty’s titah serves as guideline to achieve Brunei Vision 2035

Legislative Council (LegCo) member Yang Berhormat Haji Mohamad Danial @ Tekpin bin Ya’akub highlighted that His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s titah served as a guideline and reminder for the council members, government and private sector and all the people and residents of Brunei Darussalam in both fulfilling and implementing their responsibilities towards achieving Brunei Vision 2035.

Speaking during the 21st session of the LegCo meeting yesterday, he recognised that the country cannot avoid facing global economic challenges as these challenges will occur from time to time, adding efforts towards strengthening the national economy should be implemented. Referring to His Majesty’s titah, he also touched on the increase in gross domestic product from 2017 to 2023, increasing through the export of new products to foreign countries.

This, he said, illustrates that efforts to diversify new products that have high value and demand in the global market are important to strengthen the country’s economy apart from oil and gas.

Brunei Darussalam also has other sources that have the potential to be developed such as white sand that is capable of producing high quality and expensive glass products.

This challenge is also seen in the effort and productivity produced by micro, small and medium-sized entrepreneurs of One Village One Product. – Fadhil Yunus
