His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, received in audience Malaysian Minister of Foreign Affairs Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Mohamad bin Haji Hasan during an audience ceremony at the Istana Nurul Iman on Monday.
His Majesty and the Malaysian Minister of Foreign Affairs discussed ways to further deepen bilateral relations and cooperation in areas of mutual benefit between the two countries.
Accompanying the Malaysian Minister of Foreign Affairs were Secretary General Dato’ Sri Amran Mohamed Zin and Chargé d’Affaires of the High Commission of Malaysia in Brunei Darussalam Nur Ezira binti Mahadi.
Minister of Foreign Affairs II Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof was also present.
The Malaysian Minister of Foreign Affairs is in the Sultanate to attend the 25th Meeting on the Implementation of the Exchange of Letters (EOL), an agreement signed between His Majesty and the Prime Minister of Malaysia in 2009. The meeting discusses the progress of implementing the EOL.
This year is a key milestone as both countries commemorate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
