The Sultanate and Malaysia have enjoyed a long history of defence cooperation since February 14, 1992 through the signing of a memorandum of understanding on Defence Cooperation.

As a result, bilateral defence relations have strengthened with cooperation and engagements in various fields such as defence agreements, professional exchanges at all levels, trainings and exercises throughout all major services, Land, Navy and Air from both Armed Forces.

Additionally, both countries cooperate on various multilateral platforms, which include the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM) and the ADMM-Plus, as well as through international peacekeeping operations such as the International Monitoring Team (IMT) in Mindanao and United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).

Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Mohamad and his delegation were in the country for a one-day official visit.

The audience ceremony took place at Istana Nurul Iman.
