His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday received in audience Secretary General of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) Haitham Al-Ghais, who is currently in Brunei Darussalam for a four-day working visit.
His Majesty and the secretary general discussed opportunities to enhance cooperation between Brunei Darussalam and OPEC in the field of oil and gas.
Discussions also focussed on regional and international issues of importance to both parties.
Accompanying Al-Ghais during the audience ceremony at Istana Nurul Iman were Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof and Deputy Minister (Energy) at the Prime Minister’s Office Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Matsatejo bin Sokiaw.
