His Majesty meets Australian Chief of the Defence Force

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa‘adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, yesterday received in audience Chief of the Defence Force, Australia Defence Force General Angus John Campbell, AO, DSC.

Accompanying the Australian Chief of the Defence Force were High Commissioner of Australia to Brunei Darussalam Luke Arnold; Defence Adviser Australia to Brunei Darussalam Wing Commander Matthew Xerri; Senior Enlisted Adviser to Chief of the Defence Force Australia Warrant Officer Ken Robertson; and Director of Malaysia, the Philippines and Brunei, International Policy Division, Department of Defence, Australia David Bolton.

Brunei Darussalam and Australia have a long history of defence cooperation that is supported by a comprehensive bilateral defence that encompasses visits, professional exchanges, exercises, training and courses.

The bilateral defence relations between both countries were strengthened with the signing of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Cooperation in Defence Activities on May 10, 1999.
