His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam arrived in Melbourne, Australia Monday to attend the ASEAN-Australia Special Summit on March 5-6.
Accompanying His Majesty was His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen.

On arrival at Melbourne Jet Base, His Majesty was welcomed by Assistant Minister for Health and Aged Care Ged Kearney and High Commissioner of Australia to Brunei Darussalam Luke Arnold.
Also present to greet His Majesty on arrival was Minister of Foreign Affairs II Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof.
The ASEAN-Australia Special Summit will be co-chaired by Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, as the Chair of ASEAN, and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, joined by leaders of ASEAN member states and Timor-Leste.
Prior to His Majesty’s flight to Melbourne, a Doa Selamat was recited by State Mufti Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned at the Istana Nurul Iman.

Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran-pengiran Cheteria; Special Advisor to His Majesty; the Speaker of the Legislative Council; Cabinet ministers; members of the Privy Council; deputy ministers; the Commissioner of Police of the Royal Brunei Police Force; and the Acting Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces were also present.
