His Majesty graces UNISSA’s Hafl Al-Takharruj

454 Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) graduates embarked on new chapters following the 14th UNISSA Hafl Al-Takharruj (Convocation Ceremony) at the International Convention Centre (ICC), Berakas held on Wednesday.

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Chancellor of UNISSA graced the ceremony.

Accompanying His Majesty was His Royal Highness Prince (Dr) Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, and the Pro-Chancellor of UNISSA.

His Majesty presented graduates with Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Master’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degrees, Postgraduate Diplomas, Higher National Diplomas (HND), Higher Diplomas and diplomas in various fields and disciplines, as well as a Special Degree in 30 Juzuk Al-Quran Memorisation and Diploma in Da’ie and Leadership.

Upon arrival, the monarch was greeted by Minister of Education Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh who is also Chairperson of the UNISSA Council; as well as Rector of UNISSA Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal.

The ceremony witnessed welcoming remarks by the rector of UNISSA who later announced recipients for the Medals and Book Prize Awards as well as contributors for the 14th Hafl Al-Takharruj.

Following a titah, His Majesty awarded certificates to seven PhD graduates; 73 Master’s graduates; 328 graduates with Bachelor’s Degrees, 10 in Graduate Diplomas; 17 graduates in HND programme; 12 National Diploma graduates; and seven recipients for Special Degree in 30 Juzuk Al-Quran Memorisation.
