His Majesty graces Charity Polo Day

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam graced the Charity Polo Day 2023 at the Royal Brunei Polo and Riding Club in Jerudong yesterday.

His Majesty also presented the championship trophy to the winning team of the polo match.

Team Sonic The Hedgehog, led by His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen, emerged champions.

Other members of the triumphant team were Abdul Syafiq Waqiuddin bin Abdullah, Pengiran Md Khairul Alimin bin Pengiran Haji Mohamad, Azeez Jaafar and Abdullah Amirul Azri.

Team Pacman, led by His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah, finished second. Other team members included Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Muda Bahar, Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul ‘Ali Yil-Kabier bin Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz and Mohd Mazhodir.

Team Super Mario Bros, led by Her Royal Highness Princess ‘Azemah Ni’matul Bolkiah, came in third. Other team members were Muhd Basyiir bin Hardy Sufardi, Farid Abdullah, Colonel (Rtd) Huzaimi Husin and Abdullah Afiq.

The charity event also witnessed a challenge match between Royal Brunei Polo Junior Academy players.

The Charity Polo 2023 was organised by the Brunei Polo Team in collaboration with the Royal Brunei Polo and Riding Club and Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam. – Fadhil Yunus
