His Majesty calls for youth to build ASEAN resilience

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam attended the ASEAN Leaders’ Interface with representatives of ASEAN Youth, at the National Convention Centre in Vientiane, Laos yesterday.
 
Accompanying His Majesty was His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen.
 
During interface, His Majesty delivered a titah stating that the interface serves as a valuable platform for dialogue with the youth as agents of change and development, to present recommendations for an interconnected and resilient ASEAN community. 
 
  In this regard, the youth were encouraged to take full advantage of the opportunities offered by various ASEAN initiatives, particularly in education and health, to harness their potential and contribute to regional development.
 
In continuing the positive trajectory in community-building efforts, His Majesty stressed that it is also crucial to integrate the youth’s perspectives into the ASEAN Community Vision 2045.
 
  Aside from enriching the vision, the active involvement of the youth significantly shapes the future of ASEAN, where their involvement is beneficial and impactful.
 
Assistant Treasurer of the Brunei Youth Council Mohammad Nazib bin Haji Lamat and Assistant Programme Development Officer under Green Brunei Hazirah binti Sufian represented Brunei Darussalam.
