His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam attended a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister of Malaysia Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim at the sidelines of the 42nd ASEAN Summit.
During the meeting, both leaders discussed on ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual importance to Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia including through the Annual Leaders’ Consultation between both countries.
The longstanding and close relationship between Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia was established in January 1984, in which the main areas of cooperation between both countries are in trade and investment, defence, education, tourism, connectivity and health.
Accompanying His Majesty was His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen.
