His Majesty arrives in Saudi Arabia

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, arrived in Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Wednesday to attend the ASEAN-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit which will be held on 20th October 2023.

Accompanying His Majesty was His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen.

Upon arrival at King Khalid International Airport, His Majesty was welcomed by Deputy Governor of Riyadh Region His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz; Mayor of Riyadh Region His Highness Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf; Secretary-General of the GCC Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi; and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Brunei Darussalam Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Buraithin.

The ASEAN–GCC Summit, will be co-chaired by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Indonesia, as the Chair of ASEAN in 2023. At this Summit, ASEAN and GCC Heads of State and Government will gather for the first time since ASEAN-GCC relations were formally established in 1990, and discuss ways to further strengthen relations as well as advance collaboration on issues of mutual interest such as climate change.
