Highlighting cultural sensitivity through sign language workshop

BD Creative Centre and Jari-Jari Ku recently hosted a Jari-Jari Ku sign language workshop in Kiulap.

The workshop was conducted and organised by member of the National Deaf Association (OKP) and Brunei Darussalam Special Education Association Dr Hajah Norbayah binti Haji Shahminan.

Thirteen people, aged 12 to 40 participated in the workshop, where they learnt the skills required to communicate with hearing impaired individuals.

The importance of cultural sensitivity was highlighted during the workshop, which served to advocate a society that cares to the hearing impaired.
