Minister of Home Affairs Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman as Acting Minister of Education officiated the 9th Higher Education Expo 2024 at Bridex Hall 2, Jerudong yesterday.
The event was organised by the Ministry of Education (MoE) through the Department of Higher Education, the Department of Scholarship Management and the Brunei Darussalam National Accreditation Council.
The two-day expo continues today and is open to the public from 9am to 5pm.
At yesterday’s event, the minister launched the Higher Education Information Hub Plus (HE iHub+), a mobile application serving as an information platform for higher education in Brunei Darussalam as well as providing guidelines on the students’ educational pathway. The minister also visited 47 exhibition booths set up by departments under the MoE, local and international higher education institutions, embassies and other related agencies.
The expo will also hold a webinar via the HE Virtual Expo Brunei channel on YouTube on February 5-6 from 8.30am to 4.30pm.
The event’s main focus is to provide a one-stop information centre on higher education for students who have completed the Brunei-Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level and Brunei-Cambridge GCE ‘A’ Level, or equivalent, who look to further their studies.
The webinar also provides an opportunity to interact with representatives from higher education institutions.
Meanwhile, the expo has a digital platform for webinars on various education pathways.
At the expo, the MoE will also provide the latest information, such as the Higher Education Centralised Admission System (HECAS), government scholarships and application for course or qualification accreditation. – Rokiah Mahmud
