High Commission, organisation mark Chinese New Year

Lavida, an organisation dedicated to supporting the skill training and education of specially-abled children and youth, marked Chinese New Year yesterday in collaboration with the Bangladesh High Commission of Brunei Darussalam at the high commission’s premises in Kampong Tanah Jambu.

Director of Lavida Dona Patrick expressed gratitude to Bangladesh High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Nahida Rahman Shumona for her support of Lavida since her tenure in  Brunei began.

As a token of appreciation, Lavida students presented an artwork to the high commissioner, symbolising the spirit of collaboration and goodwill between the two entities.

Meanwhile, the Bangladeshi high commissioner commended the impact of organisations such as Lavida and reiterated the importance of recognising the inherent worth and potential in every person, regardless of their abilities or disabilities.

The highlight of the celebration was a cultural showcase featuring dance performances, traditional Chinese music and songs presented by the youth associated with Lavida.

Guests included ambassadors from China and Cambodia, as well as diplomats from Indonesia and the Philippines.
