The Community Development Department (JAPEM) yesterday presented financial assistance from His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, to a family of fire victims.
Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin handed over the financial aid to Masnah binti Haji Jumat in a ceremony at the Citra Budaya Hall of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS).
A fire tore through Masnah’s home in RPN Kampong Mentiri on May 10, rendering the kitchen area and other parts of the house damaged. No one was home during the 4.40pm incident.
The financial assistance aimed to reduce the burden faced by the family, and demonstrated the government’s concern for the welfare of the populace.
