Victims of a house fire yesterday received financial assistance from the provision of the Government of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
Permanent Secretary (Community) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) Hajah Nor Ashikin binti Haji Johari handed over the funds to a representative of Pengiran Hajah Aisah binti Pengiran Haji Menudin’s family.
No injuries were reported in the Jalan Menglait house fire at 5pm on August 31.
The donation demonstrates the government’s concern for the welfare of disaster victims, according to the MCYS.
The financial aid was handed over through the Community Development Department under the MCYS in a ceremony at its premises.
