The Magistrate’s Court ordered a local woman and man to settle BND29,000 and BND21,200 in fines respectively on Thursday.
Arinah binti Ali, 54, would have to serve 15 months’ jail in default of payment after she pleaded guilty to possession of 13 cartons and 20 packets of cigarettes while 20-year-old Nur Fahmi bin Haji Mohd Jawie a 13 months’ imprisonment after pleading guilty to possessing 17 cartons and a packet of cigarettes as well as 90 boxes and two units of vape pods.
