HECAS 2024 (First Round) online application to local higher education institutions, including Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) and Politeknik Brunei (PB), and for the Brunei Government Overseas Scholarship, under the Ministry of Education’s (MoE) Department of Scholarship Management, for the 2024/2025 academic year commences today at 9am and will close on February 29 at 3pm, the ministry announced through the Department of Higher Education yesterday.
The programme levels offered are Level 5 Diploma, Higher National Diploma and First Degree programmes.
The HECAS online application is opened for holders of valid Brunei Darussalam-issued identity cards (yellow, purple or green).
The ministry added that HECAS does not process government servants applying for in-service training, as well as foreign applicants who do not have valid Brunei Darussalam-issued identity card.
Applicants are allowed to use their predicted results to apply to local universities or for overseas scholarship. They will receive a conditional offer upon meeting the entry requirement set by the institution.
Before the HECAS closing date, applicants are required to settle overdue payments upon registration through BIBD mobile application or by cash at the payment counter at Counter 8 (Cash and Revenue Unit), Ground Floor, Block C, One Stop Service Centre, MoE; Tutong Sixth Form Centre; or Sultan Hassan Secondary School, Temburong District, the MoE said.
Applicants must also fulfil requirements stated in the Institution Checklist, the ministry added.
