Brunei Darussalam has entered the inter-monsoon period between the southwest monsoon and the northeast monsoon.
The period is expected to last until the end of November, said the Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department yesterday.
Based on the climatological records, the frequency of thunderstorms occurrences is the highest during the inter-monsoon period, the agency said, adding that active weather conditions are expected starting early today until Sunday morning, with occasional heavy and thundery showers expected to affect many areas in the country.
Wind speed may reach up to 45 kilometres per hour during or near and heavy and thundery showers, it also said.
Meanwhile over Brunei waters, it said, sea condition is generally slight, with wave heights between 0.3 and 0.8 metres.
