Healthy eating meets fitness

AvocBar Brunei, owned by Kenny Tchung, has re-opened with a focus on offering healthier food options, proudly achieving halal certification. Kenny, who also owns Boss Gym, believes that health is about balance – exercise alone doesn’t make you healthy, and healthy food alone doesn’t make you fit.

Speaking at the re-opening, Kenny shared that he initially became a fan of AvocBar as a customer, and his passion for its healthy yet tasty offerings led him to invest in the franchise. While the food may be slightly more expensive due to the use of fresh ingredients and 100 per cent olive oil, Kenny is committed to providing quality, nutritious meals to the public.

His motivation for entering the healthy food business stemmed from his gym members asking for advice on diet. They were frustrated with working out only to eat unhealthy food later. AvocBar aims to offer a convenient solution for gym-goers looking for a balanced lifestyle.

The re-opening also brings a revamped menu with new items from the franchise and improved quality. To ensure the highest standards, Kenny sent his entire team, including a local chef, for overseas training. The restaurant is also fully compliant with halal requirements, a key aspect Kenny is proud of.

Looking ahead, Kenny hopes to collaborate with local health and fitness industries, including hospitals, to promote healthier living. He aims to raise awareness about the importance of good nutrition, particularly as more young people face health issues in Brunei.

AvocBar is now open on the ground floor of Higher Point building, next to Boss Gym, offering a range of healthy dishes in a modern and welcoming setting. It caters to all ages, from gym-goers and those looking to lose weight, to anyone interested in a healthy lifestyle. – Lyna Mohamad
