    Azlan Othman

Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman called on intending haj pilgrims to take care of their health so that they are in a condition to intensify their pious acts during the pilgrimage.

He said this during a get-together with the intending haj pilgrims at the Chancellor Hall, Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD).

The minister said as this year’s haj falls during the hot season, pilgrims need to remember to stay hydrated, conserve energy, and not be too exposed to the heat. The minister also called on the intending pilgrims to avoid run-ins with haj operators and the need to be patience as it adds more rewards to the intending haj pilgrims.

The minister also expressed gratitude to the government of Saudi Arabia for giving the haj quota of 1,000 pilgrims. This year, 786 Bruneians will be performing the haj for the first time, while another 200 will undertake another pilgrimage.
